“All men can see these tactics whereby I conquer, but what none can see is the strategy out of which victory is evolved.”
Strategy is about thinking through a problem, not just about a problem. Planning is a critical component of change leadership. The overall strategy of a change project must include specific organizational change activities. It’s important to turn change related activities (which are sometimes considered soft activities) into project level tasks so that we can manage their completion. The strategy is necessary to ensure that the change activities don’t fall off the edge of the table when the going gets tough. Strategy is also a fluid process. By their very nature, change projects require adaptation along the way.
