"Confusion is a word we have created for an order which is not yet understood."
Our job as change leader is to create a vivid picture of the order, which does not yet exist. For workers to change the way they work an understanding of the new order is necessary. What will the New World look like? What will it feel like? All of the senses should be exercised in this explanation. We can create detailed written documents and stand-up presentations but not everyone learns this way. Multi-media software is now available to create 3-D models. Working prototypes are more possible as well. For non-tangible changes like process flow changes try physical walk-arounds of documents through the new process. Think about using non-traditional ways to eliminate the 'confusion' that is a change effort prior to implementation.
