The Human Aspects of Change

Change Quotes

Change Quotes are popular, traditional quotes interpreted by Jim Canterucci from a change leadership perspective.

Bertolt Brecht, 'Galileo'

"If there are obstacles, the shortest line between two points may be the crooked line."

Change leadership is by definition outside the norm. There usually are no experiences to fall back on. As we attempt to change our organizations, our only experiences are the operating principles that got us here. But, to make a difference we have to do things differently. If we are always seeking the 'straight line' between two points it is likely we will be approaching the problem in a way that we and the organization is comfortable with. This may not be the best course. Look outside the current base of experience when solving the problem. Don't discard solutions simply because they seem difficult or because we have not previously done it this way. These are the types of change solutions that may just push your effort over the finish line.
