Practical Team Building
Experiential learning is valuable, but a metaphor isn't necessary. Find practical work examples to promote team unity. Development of an organizational structure, team interviewing, or team presentations with a great deal of pressure - like a senior management or client audience can build the fiber of a strong team much more effectively (and less costly) than contrived experiential learning exercises. Dealing with the fear of high altitude rope walking might prepare a team for a tough presentation. But, doing a tough presentation is a much more direct way to develop these skills.
