Evolution of the Change Project Team

In any significant change project the team will evolve and grow. The effective change leader will have mechanisms in place to allow new team members to be successfully integrated in the existing team. A deep bond develops very quickly within a project team. Although this is a powerful tool, it can hinder acceptance of sorely needed resources at critical points in the project. This causes delays if unchecked. Communication with experienced teammembers and the new additions prior to and during the first few weeks of any addition to the team to make sure that things are getting off on the right foot is important. This situation represents a change within the context of the larger change project and all of the communication and other required change management skills exist within this smaller context as well.
