Employee Readiness
What is the most important employee work category in our company relative to getting things done? If you don't immediately answer the front-line employee you may have been in middle management too long. When changes are being implemented we must ensure that these front-line employees are ready. It's easy to check-off tasks on a project plan and answer questions like, did training occur? But, it's necessary to also ask, can everyone get into the system from their desktop? Our task lists may require new chairs for a brand new area. But does each person have a chair that works for him or her? Can each employee answer the questions they will face on the first day after the change is implemented? For success, our focus has to expand to include the perspective of the individual front-line employee.
