Change Within Change Project Teams

It's easy to take the strength of the change team for granted. Change projects change. As change leaders we correctly focus on the employees being affected by change. However, our change teams are employees too. It's beneficial to watch the team closely as the project itself experiences its normal changes. The change team represents the larger audience and helps prepare to work with the larger audience in the future. Also, not applying our change leadership tools within the change team can be dangerous. You may find yourself way out front with the change team lagging behind as they grapple with the changes to the project. You can't lead change by yourself.
